Apologies with the Sunday update,  there was a problem with my satellite link and I could not upload the pages.  If you missed the update then it can be found HERE.

This update will conclude my trip to St Helena.

In the centre of Jamestown there was a lovely park,  which had a small cafe.  Perfect place to enjoy a snack or drink.

Law enforcement on St Helena,  with the Police Station and prison next to each other.

The Castle at Jamestown.  This is just up from the harbour.

Looking through the archway towards the harbour,  which also happens to be a large car parking area.

Local wildlife near the harbour.  As soon as I had stepped ashore I was aware of numerous bird calls,  all loud and vibrant and lovely to hear.  Whilst we do see a lot of seabirds on our travels,  there tends to be little birdsong to go with them.

The Customs House.  This is a fairly new building but it sits well in the harbour.

My final St Helena photo,  of the RRS James Clark Ross at anchor off Jamestown.

This morning a fire drill was held,  with the Main Lab being the space used.  As the labs are not in use just now it makes it a lot easier and also it was possible to fill the lab with special smoke to make the exercise more realistic.

Handover of the watch.  Every four hours on the Bridge the Deck Officer on watch hands the watch over to his relief. This is the handover at 16:00 with Matt,  in the chair,  handing over to Rob.  The handover will cover anything that is deemed important for the watch keeper to know and can include such things as what engines are being used,  the weather and of course the course and speed that needs to be kept.

I just happened to pop onto the Bridge shortly after sunset this evening and it looked so beautiful I took this picture.  To see what it was like this afternoon then check the Twitter feed at the bottom of the page.

My personal highlight today was spotting a turtle passing by.  This is something that can be easily missed and I just happened to be looking out the window at just the right moment.
